Candlelight Vigil for Wagtime Owner Lisa Schreiber in Blagden Alley, 01/22/17

Lisa Schreiber, founder and co-owner of the Wagtime Pet Spas & Boutiques in Shaw and Capitol Hill, died last Wednesday from acute pneumonia. She was 45 years old.

A pioneer retailer in central Shaw, Schreiber served as a Board member of Shaw Main Streets for several years. She was active in recruiting new businesses to the neighborhood and supported many Shaw Main Streets events, some of which she helped create. Schreiber volunteered with a number of pet charities and helped place countless dogs from rescue organizations through her businesses.

Lisa Schreiber and husband/Wagtime co-owner Ofer Khal (and Teddy) were featured in a 2011 Metro Bus advertising campaign.

A candlelight vigil is being held in remembrance of Schreiber on Monday, January 22, 2018, at 8:00 PM in Blagden Alley, behind the Shaw Wagtime location. The nearest alley entrance is at midblock on the 1200 block of 9th Street, NW.

Please join us in expressing sympathy and support for Schreiber's family and the Wagtime team at this difficult time.
