Community Call Box Cleanup Day

On the afternoon of Sunday, September 9, 2012, Shaw Main Streets will host a community cleanup day of historic police and fire call boxes throughout the Shaw neighborhood. Volunteers will help scrape, sand, and prime 13 cal boxes, with materials provided by Shaw Main Streets and its generous call box partner Premier Eco Paints, Inc. The volunteers' efforts on this afternoon will enable artists to transform the call boxes with eye catching designs later in the month.
Meet in the Carter G. Woodson Memorial Park at 9th St. and Rhode Island Ave., NW at 2:00 PM.
