Shaw Open House Returns 06/16/18 with Fun, Freebies and a Scavenger Hunt
One of Shaw Main Streets’ most popular neighborhood events returns Saturday, June 16, 2018 with the spring Shaw Open House, from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm. Shaw Open House is a celebration of the neighborhood and invites the entire city to visit Shaw and learn about the unique bars, restaurants and places to live, work, shop, pray and play.
As part of Shaw Main Streets’ ongoing #LoveShaw campaign, Shaw Open House gives visitors every reason to #ShopinShaw and #DineInShaw through sampling, promotional activities and free gifts. A digital ‘passport’ ushers visitors from merchant to merchant for a #Shawesome afternoon of exploration and entertainment, culminating with a prize-filled close out party. At every business visited, attendees will have their digital passport validated, allowing the bearer to enter the prize drawings.
This installment of Shaw Open House will focus on the southern half of the Shaw Main Streets service area, south of Rhode Island Ave and between 6th and 10th Streets, NW. Here you will find some of DC’s most beloved eateries, watering holes and retail locations:

A new addition to this Shaw Open House will be a Shaw DC Scavenger Hunt highlighting public art, which when completed, offers prizes in addition to the array gift certificates, gift baskets and more that will be given to lucky winners at the Shaw Open House Close Out Party taking place on the rooftop at 880 P Street, NW, which boasts breathtaking views of the city. Refreshments, bites and cocktails sponsored by Beam Global will be at the ready for Open House Passport Holders and Scavenger Hunt victors at the party, which begins at 5:00 PM.
Attendees can participate in Shaw Open House and the Scavenger Hunt by downloading the TRAIPSE app to their smartphones and be prompted with further instructions. The app can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play Store and from www.traipse.co/shaw.
This is a FREE event for all, and no tickets or reservations are required.

No purchase necessary to win. One Traipse registration or printed passport per person. All Traipse registrations and printed passports to be entered into the drawing must be validated by visiting at least six (6) participating businesses during Shaw Open House and completing the puzzle challenges associated with those locations. Traipse registrations and printed passports without at least six (6) correct challenge responses will be removed from the drawing. All information requested on the Traipse drawing entry screen or printed passport entry coupon must be completed for entry into the drawing. Any missing information will cause the entry or printed passport to be removed from the drawing. All qualifying Traipse passport entries will automatically be entered in the prize drawing, but winners must be present at the drawing to win. The prize drawing will be held at City Market at O, 880 P Street, NW at 5:30 PM on 06/16/18. All printed passports must be brought to City Market at O, 880 P Street, NW before the 5:30 PM drawing on 06/16/18. Winners must be present to win.
